Geoff Hill

Geoffrey has almost 50 years’ experience in the aviation industry in a significant variety of roles.

Trained as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer for seven years before starting a 24 year career in the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) as an Engine Fitter, before qualifying as a Flight Engineer. Following discharge from the RAAF Geoffrey consulted to the Department of Defence before joining the RAAF Active Reserves for a further eight years, leading two training teams concurrently. During this time Geoffrey operated his own business importing modern and innovative aircraft into Australia, joined Polytechnic West as a Project Manager before moving to Skywest Airline Pty Ltd as the Engineering Training Coordinator. In 2012 Geoffrey started a two year hiatus from aviation before joining Jetstar Airways Pty Ltd for a further five years. Leaving Jetstar in 2019 Geoffrey retired to his small property in South Australia to renovate and provide ad hoc training consultancy.

Geoffrey’s qualifications and experience includes five national Diplomas and numerous national/enterprise Certificates supporting a variety of general aircraft operated by third tier airlines, military Aermacchi MB326 for a  contractors, was an Engine Fitter for the General Dynamics F111 and Lockheed P3 Orion and Flight Engineer for the Boeing Vertol CH47C Chinook, De Havilland Canada DHC4 Caribou and Hawker Siddley HS748. Geoffrey was part of the team to introduce the ATR-72 into the Virgin Airlines fleet, holds an Australian Commercial Pilots Licence and has owned several aircraft.

Geoffrey explores new and innovative technologies with has a firm desire to produce a superior Engineering product for the modern world by improving the investment into Maintenance training.
